Dr Kehdi is an eye surgeon with special interest in children’s eye conditions.
His career path has spanned many years, culminating in the last 2 years with a fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology and a second fellowship in Surgical and medical treatment of paediatric glaucoma.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. Dr Kehdi obtained speciality training at Sydney Eye Hospital followed by two fellowships in the UK at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, with intense focus on surgical and medical treatment of paediatric glaucoma.
Dr Kehdi has been able to attain a high level of surgical skills in the various areas of the field such as cataract surgery, and various glaucoma surgeries including goniotomy, trabeculectomy and tube drainage surgery in addition to paediatric lensectomy to treat congenital cataract. He also has an astute level of knowledge in the treatment of squint including both surgical and non surgical options.
Dr Kehdi has published a number of peer-reviewed publications and authored many presentations and posters, in particular on congenital cataract where he was part of the world renowned multi disciplinary team at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and Royal Manchester Children Hospital.
As well as teaching, Dr Kehdi is actively involved in the community. He has taken part in many charitable activities, such as volunteering for the Lebanese Red Cross and participating in the Armenian Eye Care Project in both a surgical and teaching capacity. He regularly visits Armenia where he is currently involved in setting up a formal training program for the local doctors.
Dr Kehdi is fluent in English, Arabic and Armenian.
