Paul Dalton is a Professor in Biofabrication at the University of Würzburg, Germany. He has 20 years of interdisciplinary experience with biomedical materials, including clinical biomaterials. Originally, a chemist/materials scientist from Curtin University, he undertook his PhD research at the Lions Eye Institute in Perth, Australia.
Professor Dalton has considerable international research experience, working at the University of Toronto, RWTH-Aachen, University of Southampton, Queensland University of Technology and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research focus is establishing processing technologies for clinical translation and neuroscience applications. He pioneered a 3D printing method, termed melt electrospinning writing, that prints micron diameter filaments into defined shapes. Over the past five years Professor Dalton has published in prestigious journals such as Progress in Polymer Science, Nature Communications, Nature Materials and Advanced Materials
