After completing Ophthalmology training in 1988, Timothy Sullivan undertook Training in Oculoplastics, Lacrimal and Orbital Disease at Moorfields Eye Hospital, under John Wright, Richard Collin, Dick Welham and Geoff Rose. He also undertook a Paediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship in Toronto at The Hospital for Sick Children.
He returned to Brisbane in 1992 and established Oculoplastic Clinics at the Royal Brisbane and Queensland Children’s Hospitals and the University of Queensland. He has published more than 150 papers and book chapters and given more than 500 presentations. He has interests in Adnexal Oncology, TED and Paediatric Oculoplastics. He is involved in teaching students, registrars and Fellows. having trained twenty-five Oculoplastic Fellows from around the globe, many returning to pivotal leadership roles in their communities. He is a former President of the Australian and New Zealand and Asia-Pacific Societies of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery, an active Fellow of both the American and European Societies of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a member of the International Orbital Society and International Society of Ocular Oncology.
