We would like to congratulate QEI Clinic’s Associate Professor Anthony Kwan who was recently appointed Chair of the Research Committee at Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA).
Associate Professor Kwan is a specialist who is actively involved in research, education and clinical care for diseases of the macular.
Age related macular degeneration is responsible for 50% of all blindness in Australia (MDFA, 2020). Whilst research has allowed clinicians to gather a better understanding of the disease in recent years, there is still no known cure. Earlier this year, Associate Professor Kwan launched the very first Australian Macular Disease Research review (read more). The purpose of the review is to summarise the latest advancements and updates in macula research and how this might impact the way clinical care is delivered to patients with macular disease.
